Description
A vibrant, no-heat seafood dish where fresh fish is cured in lime juice and layered with onions, cilantro, and chili. The perfect ceviche food description in every bite.
Ingredients
1 lb fresh white fish (snapper, sea bass, or halibut)
1 cup fresh lime juice
1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
1 small chili pepper, finely chopped
1/4 cup chopped cilantro
Salt to taste
Optional: 1/2 diced avocado, 1/4 cup diced mango, sweet potato slices
Instructions
1. Cut the fish into small, even cubes and place in a non-metal bowl.
2. Pour lime juice over the fish until completely covered.
3. Let marinate for 15–30 minutes until fish turns opaque.
4. Drain slightly if desired and add onion, chili, cilantro, and salt.
5. Gently fold in avocado or mango if using.
6. Serve immediately, chilled.
Notes
Use only the freshest seafood available for safety and flavor.
Adjust marinating time depending on how firm you want the fish.
Can be served with plantain chips, tostadas, or on butter lettuce cups.
