Description
These crispy oven baked sweet potato fries are golden on the outside, soft on the inside, and baked to perfection without frying.
Ingredients
- 2 large sweet potatoes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- Fresh herbs (optional garnish)
Instructions
1. Cut sweet potatoes into 1/4-inch thick sticks.
2. Soak fries in cold water for 30 minutes.
3. Drain and pat completely dry with a clean kitchen towel.
4. Toss with cornstarch until lightly coated.
5. Add olive oil, salt, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Mix well.
6. Spread fries on a parchment-lined baking sheet in a single layer.
7. Bake at 425°F for 30–35 minutes, flipping halfway.
8. Remove from oven when edges are golden and crisp.
9. Serve hot with optional fresh herbs and dipping sauces.
Notes
Soaking the sweet potatoes removes starch and helps crisp the edges.
Dry thoroughly before baking to avoid sogginess.
Don’t overcrowd the baking sheet—use two if needed for proper crisping.
