Ingredients
For the matcha base
2 teaspoons matcha powder
2 tablespoons hot water (not boiling, around 175°F)
For the lemonade
Juice of one large lemon (freshly squeezed for best taste)
2 teaspoons honey (or adjust to your preferred sweetness)
2 cups cold water
To serve
Ice cubes (enough to fill your glass)
Equipment
Small bowl for mixing matcha
Whisk or handheld frother
Pitcher or large glass
Spoon for stirring
Fine mesh strainer (optional for smoother matcha)
Instructions
1. MAKE the matcha paste: In a small bowl, sift the matcha powder to prevent clumps. Add the hot water and whisk vigorously with a frother or fork until a smooth, thick green paste forms.
2. PREPARE the lemonade: In a pitcher or large glass, combine the cold water, fresh lemon juice, and honey. Stir well until the honey is fully dissolved.
3. COMBINE the drink: Pour the cooled matcha paste into the lemonade. Stir until the color is a uniform, vibrant green.
4. SERVE: Fill two glasses with ice and pour the matcha lemonade over top. Enjoy immediately.
