  1. Heat your grill or cast-iron skillet to a medium-high temperature.
  2. Portion the ground beef into 2-ounce balls and shape them gently into patties.
  3. Cook the bacon slices in the same pan until crispy and set aside.
Cooking
  1. Sear the beef patties, pressing down with a spatula to flatten them and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until a beautifully caramelized crust forms, then flip the patties.
  3. Place a slice of cheese atop each patty and allow it to melt.
  4. Toast the burger buns lightly on the grill or in the skillet with a bit of butter.
