For the crust
  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs Can substitute with gluten-free options.
  • 1/4 cup sugar Adjustable for sweetness.
  • 1/4 cup melted butter For binding the crust.
For the layers
  • 2 ripe bananas ripe bananas Use fresh and ripe bananas for best flavor.
  • 1 cup homemade pastry cream Store-bought can be used but homemade is recommended.
  • 1 cup caramel sauce Using homemade sauce enhances flavor.
  • 1 cup whipped cream Whisk just until soft peaks form to retain volume.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Mix graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter in a bowl until fully combined.
  2. Press the mixture into the base of a serving dish to form the crust.
Layering
  1. Spread half of the pastry cream evenly over the prepared crust.
  2. Slice the bananas and layer them over the pastry cream.
  3. Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over the bananas.
  4. Add another layer of pastry cream, followed by the remaining banana slices and the rest of the caramel sauce.
  5. Finish with a generous dollop of whipped cream and garnish with leftover graham cracker crumbs.
Chilling
  1. Chill in the refrigerator for a minimum of 2 hours before serving to allow flavors to meld.
