Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder until well combined.
- In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, layer the cubed bread. Add the cooked sausage and half of the shredded cheese on top.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layers of bread and sausage.
- Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
- Cover the dish with foil and refrigerate overnight, or let it sit for about 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven, covered, for 30 minutes.
- After this, uncover and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the casserole is cooked through and the top is golden brown.
- Allow it to cool slightly before slicing and serving.
