Ingredients

For the cake
  • 1 box yellow cake mix Use your favorite brand
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil Can be substituted with applesauce
  • 3 large eggs
For the praline topping
  • 1 cup praline sauce Generously pour over cake
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped pecans For topping
  • extra praline sauce For drizzling on top

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the yellow cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs until well combined. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  3. Bake according to package directions, around 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  4. Once the cake has baked, let it cool for about 15 minutes. Poke holes all over the cake using a skewer or fork.
  5. Generously pour the praline sauce over the warm cake, allowing it to seep into the holes.
Topping
  1. In a medium bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  2. Spread the whipped cream over the cake and sprinkle the chopped pecans on top.
  3. Drizzle with extra praline sauce if desired.
Chilling
  1. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

For a healthier option, substitute vegetable oil with applesauce. You can also use a sugar-free cake mix for a lighter version.
