Ingredients
  

Burger Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground chicken preferably lean but not too dry
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese about 115 g
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix or 2 tbsp homemade ranch seasoning
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs about 30 g
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil for cooking
  • 4 pieces burger buns brioche, whole wheat, or sesame
Optional Toppings

  • avocado
  • ranch dressing or mayo

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Shred sharp cheddar cheese and prepare ingredients.
  2. Combine ground chicken, cheddar cheese, egg, panko breadcrumbs, ranch seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a spacious mixing bowl.
  3. Mix gently, taking care not to overwork the meat.
  4. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and form each into a patty approximately 3/4 inch thick.
Cooking
  1. Heat a non-stick skillet or grill pan over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of olive or avocado oil.
  2. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on one side until golden brown.
  3. Flip them over and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  4. Optionally, toast the burger buns in a separate pan or under the broiler until lightly golden.
Assembly
  1. Assemble the burgers by placing the cooked patties onto the buns and adding your desired toppings.
  2. Serve hot!
