Ingredients

  • 13.8 oz pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 4 oz shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • 0.5 tsp parsley (for garnish)
  • marinara sauce (for dipping)

  • baking sheet
  • mixing bowl
  • parchment paper
  • pastry brush

  • oven

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to ¼ inch thick. Cut into 22 squares (about 2 inches each).
  3. In a bowl, mix mozzarella, parmesan, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Place 1 tsp filling in each dough square.
  4. Pinch the edges of the dough to seal and roll into balls.
  5. Arrange balls on the baking sheet in a Christmas tree shape (about 11 for tree, 2 for trunk).
  6. Beat the egg and brush over the dough balls.
  7. Bake for 15–20 minutes or until golden and puffed.
  8. Mix melted butter, parmesan, and parsley. Brush over hot bread after baking.
  9. Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

Make it your own by stuffing with mini pepperoni or topping with fresh rosemary. Don’t skip the egg wash for a golden finish! This bread is best served warm with marinara, but you can reheat leftovers easily in the oven.
