Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure butter is at room temperature.
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
Mix-ins
  • 3 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional) Feel free to swap the nuts for your favorites or omit them entirely for a nut-free version.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
  3. In a larger bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until nice and smooth.
  4. Beat in the egg, along with the vanilla and almond extracts.
  5. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips and chopped nuts, if you’re using them.
  7. Drop large spoonfuls of the cookie dough onto ungreased baking pans.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 9 to 11 minutes, or until the edges turn a lovely golden brown.
  2. Allow the cookies to cool on wire racks before indulging in their deliciousness.
