Method
Preparation
- In a large bowl, combine warm milk, granulated sugar, and active dry yeast. Allow this mixture to sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- Add melted butter, eggs, and salt to the yeast mixture. Stir well to combine.
- Slowly incorporate bread flour, one cup at a time, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes.
- Place kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean cloth, and let it rise until it has doubled in size—about 1-2 hours.
Rolling and Baking
- When dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface into a large rectangle.
- Spread the melted butter evenly over the surface.
- Sprinkle a mixture of brown sugar and ground cinnamon across the buttered dough.
- Roll it up tightly and slice into individual rolls.
- Arrange rolls in a greased baking dish, allowing them to rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake rolls for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
Glazing
- To make the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and green food coloring to your desired hue.
- Drizzle glaze over warm rolls and decorate with candy ornaments.
