Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the heavy cream, seasoning with salt and pepper, and bring to a gentle simmer.
Layering
  1. Layer half of the sliced potatoes into a greased baking dish.
  2. Pour half of the cream mixture over them and sprinkle half of the grated Parmesan cheese on top.
  3. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, cream, and cheese.
Baking
  1. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  2. Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.
  3. Allow to cool slightly, garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve.
