- In a skillet, brown the ground meat with chopped onion over medium heat. Once browned, drain the fat and stir in minced garlic for one minute.
- Transfer the meat mixture to your crockpot.
- Add crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, beef broth, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 6–8 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours.
- About 30 minutes before serving, stir in broken lasagna noodles and cook until tender.
- Ladle into bowls and top with ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, and fresh basil.
