Main Ingredients
  • 9 cups rice Chex cereal
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Can experiment with different flavors.
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter Substitutable with almond butter or sunflower seed butter.
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup red and pink M&M's Optional seasonal candies.
  • to taste Sprinkles Optional for decoration.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Measure 9 cups of rice Chex cereal in a large bowl and set aside.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine 1 cup of chocolate chips, 1/2 cup of peanut butter, and 1/4 cup of butter.
  3. Microwave this mixture in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth.
  4. Mix in 1 tsp of vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Pour the melted mixture over the rice Chex and gently stir until all the cereal is well coated.
  6. Transfer the powdered sugar into a large zip-lock bag, add the coated cereal, and shake vigorously until it’s all covered.
  7. Spread the mixture out on a baking sheet to cool completely.
  8. Once cooled, fold in 1/2 cup of red and pink M&M's and any sprinkles you may want to add.
  9. Serve Cupid Chow in a vibrant bowl or package it into gift bags for sharing.

Notes
