  • ¾ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For frosting.

Method

Prepare the Dough
  1. In a small bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, salt, vanilla extract, and egg. Whisk well.
  3. Add the yeast mixture and 2 cups of flour to the wet ingredients. Mix until dough begins to form.
  4. Gradually add more flour, if necessary, until the dough is slightly tacky but manageable.
Kneading the Dough
  1. On a floured surface, knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth. Shape it into a ball.
  2. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 30-40 minutes or until doubled in size.
Prepare the Filling
  1. In a small bowl, mix granulated sugar, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon.
Assemble the Rolls
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick. Brush melted butter over the surface.
  3. Evenly sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture onto the dough.
  4. Roll the dough tightly from the long side into a log. Cut into 6 equal pieces and place in a greased baking dish.
Bake the Dough
  1. Cover the rolls with a cloth and allow them to rise for 20 more minutes.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
Cream Cheese Frosting
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Whisk until smooth.
  2. Once the rolls are out of the oven, drizzle or spread frosting over the warm rolls.
