Ingredients
Method
Prepare the Dough
- In a small bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, salt, vanilla extract, and egg. Whisk well.
- Add the yeast mixture and 2 cups of flour to the wet ingredients. Mix until dough begins to form.
- Gradually add more flour, if necessary, until the dough is slightly tacky but manageable.
Kneading the Dough
- On a floured surface, knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth. Shape it into a ball.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 30-40 minutes or until doubled in size.
Prepare the Filling
- In a small bowl, mix granulated sugar, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon.
Assemble the Rolls
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick. Brush melted butter over the surface.
- Evenly sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture onto the dough.
- Roll the dough tightly from the long side into a log. Cut into 6 equal pieces and place in a greased baking dish.
Bake the Dough
- Cover the rolls with a cloth and allow them to rise for 20 more minutes.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
Cream Cheese Frosting
- In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Whisk until smooth.
- Once the rolls are out of the oven, drizzle or spread frosting over the warm rolls.
