  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup honey Choose a robust variety for a stronger flavor.
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs Ensure they are at room temperature.
  • 1 cup milk Can use a dairy-free alternative like almond or oat milk.
Optional Topping
  • to taste powdered sugar for dusting Optional for serving.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, cloves, and salt until mixed well.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the honey, sugar, melted butter, and eggs and whisk until smooth.
  4. Gradually incorporate the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, alternating with the milk, blending until creamy.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the greased dish and bake for 30-35 minutes. It's ready when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. Let it cool slightly before slicing. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
