Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup Halloween sprinkles or mini candies
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened, for frosting)
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (for frosting)
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream or milk
  • food coloring (orange, green, purple, or black)
  • extra sprinkles or candy eyes for decoration

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar together in a large bowl with a mixer until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes).
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Fold in sprinkles or mini candies, if using.
  7. Press dough evenly into the prepared pan. Smooth the surface.
  8. Bake for 18–22 minutes, until edges are lightly golden and center is set.
  9. Cool completely in the pan before frosting.
  10. For the frosting, beat softened butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar. Add vanilla and cream or milk to desired consistency.
  11. Tint frosting with desired food coloring and spread over cooled bars. Top with sprinkles or candy eyes.
