- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal.
- Cream the butter and sugar together in a large bowl with a mixer until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes).
- Add eggs and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in sprinkles or mini candies, if using.
- Press dough evenly into the prepared pan. Smooth the surface.
- Bake for 18–22 minutes, until edges are lightly golden and center is set.
- Cool completely in the pan before frosting.
- For the frosting, beat softened butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar. Add vanilla and cream or milk to desired consistency.
- Tint frosting with desired food coloring and spread over cooled bars. Top with sprinkles or candy eyes.
