  • 1 lb ground turkey (lean)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 5 oz fresh spinach, chopped or whole Can use frozen spinach, thawed and drained
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, freshly shredded
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • to taste black pepper
Optional Ingredients
  • ½ cup diced red bell peppers For added sweetness
  • ¼ cup plain Greek yogurt For a creamy texture
  • substitute mozzarella instead of cheddar For a different flavor

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×9 baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground turkey for about 6–8 minutes, crumbling it as it cooks.
  3. Stir in garlic powder, salt, and pepper, then add spinach and wilt for 2–3 minutes.
  4. Reduce heat to low and mix in the softened cream cheese until melted and well combined.
  5. Let the mixture cool for 5 minutes before incorporating the beaten egg and half of the shredded cheddar cheese.
Baking
  1. Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish and top with remaining cheddar cheese.
  2. Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes until bubbling and golden.
  3. Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
