Ingredients
  

Burger Patties
  • 1.5 pounds ground chuck (80/20) Using high-quality ground chuck ensures rich flavor.
  • 1.5 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon light brown sugar
  • 0.25 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Burger Assembly
  • 6 pieces hamburger buns Toasted, if desired.
  • 6 slices American cheese Or your favorite cheese.
  • 6 leaves lettuce
  • 1 piece beefsteak tomato, thinly sliced
  • 0.5 piece red or white onion, thinly sliced
  • 6 slices pickles
Condiments
  • ketchup
  • mustard
  • BBQ sauce
  • Thousand island dressing
  • Ranch dressing
  • homemade Chick-fil-A Sauce

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Prepare the seasoning mix by blending all spices in a bowl and set aside.
  2. Divide the ground chuck into six equal portions and gently form them into patties slightly larger than bun-sized.
  3. Create a slight indentation in the center of each patty to ensure even cooking.
  4. Let the patties rest while you preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
Grilling
  1. Sprinkle the seasoning evenly over each patty and place them indent-side up on the hot grill.
  2. Cover the grill and cook for 3-4 minutes until a sear develops and juices surface.
  3. Flip and continue grilling for another 3-4 minutes, or until the internal temperature hits 160°F.
  4. In the last minute of cooking, add the cheese on top of each patty.
Assembly
  1. Transfer the patties to a plate and let them rest before serving on toasted buns.
  2. Top with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and your choice of condiments.

Notes
