Ingredients
  

For the cake
  • 1 box lemon cake mix
  • 1 package cream cheese, softened (8 oz)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 can lemon pie filling
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (optional, for dusting on top)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, blend the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and sugar until smooth. Spread it evenly in the bottom of your prepared baking dish.
  3. Pour the lemon pie filling over the cream cheese layer.
  4. In another bowl, combine the lemon cake mix with melted butter and water. Stir until just mixed; don’t overdo it.
  5. Spoon the cake mix mixture over the lemon pie filling.
  6. Pop it in the oven and bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
  7. Let it cool slightly before serving. It can be served warm or chilled.

Notes
