Olive Garden Breadsticks

These homemade Olive Garden breadsticks are soft, buttery, and taste just like the restaurant version. Perfect for pairing with pasta, soup, or your favorite dipping sauces, they're made with simple pantry ingredients and brushed with garlic butter for an authentic flavor.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup warm water (105–115°F)
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour (or bread flour)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt (for topping)

Method
 

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Stir in flour and salt until a dough forms.
  3. Knead on a floured surface for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 to 1.5 hours until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  6. Punch down dough, divide into 12–14 pieces, and roll into 6–8 inch logs. Place on baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 10–12 minutes until golden.
  8. Mix melted butter with garlic powder and salt. Brush generously over hot breadsticks.

Notes

Use bread flour for extra chewiness. For a quick version, reduce rise time to 30 minutes. You can also fry the dough instead of baking for homemade fried breadsticks. Store leftovers wrapped in foil and reheat in the oven for best texture.
