- Cut each prosciutto slice in half lengthwise. Pat mozzarella balls dry to remove excess moisture.
- Place a basil leaf on each mozzarella ball, then wrap it with a strip of prosciutto. Use a toothpick to secure.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange bites on a baking tray. Brush lightly with olive oil if desired.
- Bake for 5–7 minutes until prosciutto is crisp and cheese starts to melt. Do not overbake.
- Remove from oven. Arrange on serving tray. Garnish with cracked black pepper and drizzle with olive oil.
