Ingredients
  

  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 10 oz marshmallows
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp pumpkin spice
  • a few drops orange food coloring (gel preferred)
  • 12 Tootsie Rolls or pretzel sticks
  • as needed green frosting or green M&Ms

Method
 

  1. Melt the butter in a large pot over low heat.
  2. Add marshmallows and stir until smooth. For no-marshmallow version, melt honey and nut butter together.
  3. Stir in pumpkin spice and a few drops of orange food coloring until fully blended.
  4. Remove from heat and fold in Rice Krispies until fully coated.
  5. Butter your hands and shape the mixture into pumpkin-sized balls.
  6. Press a Tootsie Roll or pretzel stick into the top of each ball to form the stem.
  7. Decorate with green frosting or green M&Ms to make leaves.
