Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs chicken thighs or breasts
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
  • green onions, for garnish
  • sesame seeds, for garnish

Method
 

  1. Place boneless chicken in the slow cooker.
  2. Mix honey, soy sauce, ketchup, garlic, vinegar, and red pepper flakes in a bowl until smooth.
  3. Pour the sauce over the chicken. Cover and cook on LOW for 3 to 4 hours or HIGH for 2 to 3 hours.
  4. Remove chicken when cooked, shred it with two forks, then return it to the sauce.
  5. Stir in the cornstarch slurry. Cook on HIGH for another 15 to 20 minutes until the sauce is thickened.
  6. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
