  • 1 lb Ground beef (high-quality) For better flavor, opt for ground beef with higher fat content.
  • 1 tsp Salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1 tsp Pepper Adjust to taste.
  • 4 slices Cheese (American or cheddar) Use your favorite cheese.
  • 4 pieces Burger buns Lightly toasted.
Toppings
  • 1 cup Lettuce Shredded or whole leaves.
  • 1 medium Tomato Sliced.
  • 1 medium Onion Sliced or diced.
  • 1/2 cup Pickles Sliced.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your flat top or cast iron griddle over medium-high heat.
  2. Shape ground beef into 4-6 ounce balls, seasoning them generously with salt and pepper.
Cooking
  1. Transfer the beef balls to the hot griddle, and using a spatula, smash them down to create thin patties.
  2. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the edges turn crispy, then flip and top with cheese.
  3. While the cheese melts, toast your burger buns on the griddle.
Assembly
  1. Assemble your burgers by placing the beef patties on the toasted buns and adding your desired toppings before serving.
