Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • tsp instant yeast
  • 1 cup warm whole milk
  • ½ cup softened butter
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup strawberry jam
  • 1 cup chopped fresh strawberries (optional)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 tbsp cream cheese (optional for glaze)

Equipment

  • mixing bowl
  • Rolling Pin
  • measuring cups and spoons
  • baking dish
  • whisk

Method

  1. Warm the milk slightly and stir in sugar and yeast. Let it rest for 5 minutes until frothy. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add softened butter and eggs, then pour in the yeast mixture. Mix until dough forms, then knead for about 10 minutes until soft and elastic. Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
  2. Roll the dough out into a large rectangle. Spread strawberry jam evenly. Sprinkle cinnamon and chopped strawberries if using.
  3. Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 12 slices. Place them in a greased baking dish. Cover and let rise 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls for 25–30 minutes until golden brown and fragrant.
  5. While baking, whisk powdered sugar with a little milk. Add cream cheese if desired. Drizzle over warm rolls after baking.

Notes

Try using half bread flour for extra chewiness. For a mixed-berry twist, combine strawberries with blackberries. You can prep the rolls ahead and refrigerate overnight. Glaze with cream cheese for a rich finish.
