Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a cake pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until fluffy, then add eggs and vanilla, mixing well.
- Gradually alternate adding the dry ingredients and buttermilk until combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the top evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool completely before frosting.
