Ingredients
  

  • 1 large ripe banana, mashed
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 large egg
  • cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9x5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mash the banana in a large bowl until smooth.
  3. Add melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract to the mashed banana. Whisk until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, brown sugar, and granulated sugar.
  5. Combine wet and dry mixtures, stirring gently with a spatula until just blended.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips evenly throughout the batter.
  7. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top if desired.
  8. Bake for 50–55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean.
  9. Let cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
