Ingredients
  

For the shortbread
  • 150 g Plain flour
  • 100 g Unsalted butter (soft at room temperature) Ensure butter is soft but not melted.
  • 50 g Caster sugar
For the decoration
  • 50 g Milk chocolate Melt for drizzling.
  • 50 g White chocolate Melt for drizzling.
  • 1 packet Valentine’s sprinkles To decorate.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and prepare a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and caster sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Gradually add the plain flour, combining until a smooth dough forms.
  4. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1 cm thick.
  5. Using a cookie cutter, cut out heart shapes and place them on the baking tray.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until lightly golden. Set aside to cool on a wire rack.
  7. Melt the milk and white chocolate separately in a microwave or double boiler.
  8. Once the shortbread hearts are cool, drizzle the melted chocolates over them and quickly add festive Valentine’s sprinkles before the chocolate sets.

Notes
