Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate or red velvet cupcake mix
  • 1 batch white buttercream frosting (enough for 12 cupcakes)
  • 2–3 tbsp red gel (edible, for blood effect)
  • 12 plastic vampire teeth

Equipment

  • mixing bowls
  • cupcake pan
  • frosting spatula or knife
  • toothpick (for gel detailing)
  • cooling rack

Method

  1. Prepare your cupcake mix according to package or homemade recipe (chocolate or red velvet work best). Bake and let them cool completely.
  2. Spread a thick layer of white frosting over the top of each cupcake, creating a clean base for the decoration.
  3. Use red gel to make two small dots on each cupcake to mimic vampire bite marks. Drag the gel slightly to create a dripping blood effect.
  4. Insert plastic vampire teeth just above the gel bite marks for a spooky effect.
  5. Arrange the cupcakes on a Halloween dessert tray or display with other themed treats for a festive presentation.

Notes

Chill cupcakes before decorating to hold the gel design better. For precision, use a toothpick to apply the gel. Add candy eyes or sprinkles for more detail. Avoid applying gel on warm frosting — it will melt. Great as take-home gifts too!
