Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate cookies (Oreos without filling)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (or Greek yogurt)
  • few drops green gel food coloring
  • few drops purple gel food coloring
  • few drops orange gel food coloring

Equipment

  • 9-inch springform pan
  • mixing bowls
  • electric mixer
  • spatula
  • knife or skewer for swirling
  • cooling rack

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F. Mix crushed cookies and melted butter in a bowl. Press into a springform pan to form the crust. Bake for 10 minutes and cool.
  2. In a large bowl, beat softened cream cheese and sugar until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract and sour cream. Blend until just combined.
  4. Divide batter evenly into three bowls. Tint each with green, purple, or orange gel food coloring.
  5. Spoon dollops of each colored batter onto the crust in layers. Swirl gently with a knife or skewer for a magical effect.
  6. Bake for 45–55 minutes until edges are set and center jiggles slightly. Let cool gradually at room temp.
  7. Refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight before slicing. Decorate with spooky toppings as desired.

Notes

Use gel food coloring for vivid colors. Don’t over-swirl the batter or the colors may muddy. Chill overnight for clean slices. Add candy eyes, ghosts, or pumpkins for decoration. Kids love helping with the swirling step!
